Welcome to the all-new hub for ballot measures

¡Mi gente!

Welcome to the all-new Ballot Initiative Strategy Center website! After months of planning and development, we’re proud to present you with not only a fresh new look, but also a hub for ballot measure information. Whether you’re a campaign veteran, new to ballot measures, community organizer or journalist on deadline, our redesigned website combines powerful new tools with the BISC you know and love.

You can use this website to find out more about BISC’s new strategic framework, meet our amazing staff and board, sign up for BISCquick (our weekly newsletter), and more. Over the next few months it will evolve into a powerful resource for advocates working on ballot initiatives across the country. In addition to up-to-date information on ballot initiatives across the country, social media and press resources, the site will also have a portal for our partners to access over two-decades of BISC’s knowledge.

This launch also marks my two year anniversary as Executive Director of BISC. These past two years have reminded me about the power of the people. In the face of constant hateful and offensive attacks on our progressive values and the people we love, we have been able to support ballot measures across the country. We’ve been able to expand access to healthcare, protect reproductive freedom, raise wages for workers, secure voting rights for formerly incarcerated people, increase funding for public education and so much more.

BISC is proud to be the only progressive national organization that works across many policy, organizing, and political organizations at the local, state, and national level to analyze and support the ballot measure landscape. As BISC provides valuable research, strategic advice, training and organizing tools to engage in and protect direct democracy, the people and justice will always be at the center.

We are committed to transforming our country into one that is equitable and just. We honor that commitment by challenging structural racism and centering communities that for too long have been pushed to the margins. Whether you are a person with disabilities, identify as queer, indigenous, immigrant, transgender, non-binary or a person of color, you have a home at BISC.

This new website puts our mission and vision front and center. Ballot measures play a critical role in developing the solutions our communities need. Together, we have the power to dismantle oppressive systems and build a world where all people are liberated, live with dignity and thrive.

¡Adelante!,
